Content clustering is the most effective SEO method

Content clustering is the most effective way to promote a website seo. I will add: the most effective white (permitted) method. Subscribe to our Telegram channel to receive notifications about new publications.

There are gray and black ways to promote the site: buying links on the exchange (and directly), cheating behavioral factors, door traffic and other nasty things for which sites are blocked. We are drowning for white methods: article promotion and contextual advertising. Content clustering is a method that greatly increases the result of article promotion of the site.

What is content clustering?

Let's imagine that you earn money by renovating apartments. You have three key services that feed you:

  • bathroom renovation;
  • kitchen renovation;
  • installation of electrical wiring.

For each of these services on your site there is a selling landing page. You pour traffic on them with contextual advertising. Everything is fine, but I want to add organic traffic, because it is free, unlike advertising. Question: How to promote these landing pages? After all, landing pages are not very well adapted for promotion. You can't mark a sheet of text on them, and you can't get out without text in organics.

Article promotion comes to the rescue. On the site we create a blog, collect semantics and write articles with keys that interest us. The site begins to glow in Google-Yandex on the keys with long tails, we enhance the effect of linking, continue to replenish the blog and the site grows in search.

And how can this effect be enhanced? Content clustering comes to the rescue!

Let's move forward with the first service: bathroom renovations. A direct key request for bathroom renovation is high-frequency, highly competitive. It is difficult to promote a landing page on it. Let's gather low-frequency semantics around a direct query:

  • Bath faucet repair
  • repair of a small bath
  • Shower bath repair
  • repair of a bath without a bath
  • repair of the bath with your own hands
  • bathroom renovation panels
  • repair of the bathroom in Khrushchev
  • start of bathroom renovation
  • bathroom renovation options

Here are a few sample requests, which, of course, are much more.

And then we write an article that reveals each request. It can be guidance, examples, practice, choice of materials and technologies. You will get several dozen useful articles that will appear in the search, because the competition for such queries is much lower than for the main query like bath repairs.

To create a cluster around the site's bathroom renovation landing page based on these articles, we'll put a link to the landing page in each cluster article. And we will do it according to the meaning, so that the link was not just for a tick, but encouraged to switch to the landing page.

Here's what happens:

We formed a cluster of content around the promoted landing page. Google-Yandex likes this! Many articles link to one page, which means that the acceptor page will grow in search. After all, it is important!

Parent page (find out 3 types of main pages of the cluster) - the landing page concentrates on itself the search "weight", the rating of child pages. Internal links to key pages are taken into account by Google-Yandex in the same way as external links to the site.

There can be as many content clusters as you like

I outlined the technology of creating one cluster around one significant (key, selling) page. By analogy, you can work out clusters of as many important pages of the site as you like. Here is an instruction on how to create an SEO cluster in 10 minutes. You don't have to write articles personally, find out who should do it on your site.

The essence of clustering is that you do not just (mindlessly) work out semantics with articles, but from the very beginning you are sharpened to promote the necessary (converting) pages and work "according to the goal".

This is an online store of photographic film, the domain is young, and the search results are ossified (old sites have taken the top). The site did not receive organic traffic at all (attendance of 3-5 people a day from social networks and links from sites, 0% from search).

We promoted behavioral factors, IKS of the site and made sales with contextual advertising. Along the way, they started a blog on the site and clustered articles around product pages. Clustering has promoted product pages for commercial queries, and articles drive low-frequency traffic to the site:

As can be seen from the screenshot of Yandex.Metrica, organic traffic (conversions from search engines) is now almost 30% and this figure is growing according to the laws of article promotion. We promote Filmoza comprehensively and it obviously works.

Do I need to cluster content?

If you are set up for long-term work with the blog (as we have been writing a blog since the beginning of 2016), then clustering will happen by itself. Our blog is tightly linked, important blog articles and selling pages of the site are overgrown with natural clusters. But if I knew the clustering technique at the start, I would have gone down the path of clustering. Because it's a faster and more controlled process. Than chaotic publication of articles.
